The University of Dundee has 15,000 students (including nearly 3,000 part time) across seven faculties. It has achieved excellence in both teaching and research, with 5 and 5 star ratings in the last Research Assessment Exercise in a range of fields including biological sciences, history, law, dentistry and maths. The University was awarded a run of top ratings in the teaching quality assessments and listed top for teaching in Scotland and for graduate salaries by the Sunday Times. Duncan of Jordanstone faculty of art and design is recognised as one of the top art colleges in the UK and the Medical School was rated in an Oxford survey as the best university in the UK for preparing doctors for their profession.
